AFLAS® is the tradename for a unique fluoroelastomer based upon an alternating copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene ("TFE/P"). The elastomer, when properly formulated, can be used to fabricate o-rings, gaskets, seals, packings, and coatings possessing several unique  properties:
  1. excellent heat resistance with continuous service temperature capability of 230°C,
  2. chemical resistance including resistance to strong acids and bases,
  3. high electrical resistivity, and
  4. excellent oil resistance.

NOTE: AFLAS® fluoropolymers must be formulated with fillers, curatives, and other other agents. Properly formulated and cured AFLAS® products deliver outstanding results in many operating environments. Results using AFLAS® fluoropolymers may vary depending upon the fabricator's formulation, manufacturing process, and proper application to the operating environment.
